Roger Parry

My CV is very simple. Graduated from Durham University in 1997 and joined the Financial Services Industry! I started work in the North East and learned my profession at a large mortgage brokerage in Darlington. I moved to York in 2003 and joined Your Move to work as their Senior Mortgage Consultant. In 2017, Julie and I decided the time was right for us to set up Fulcrum Financial.

I genuinely love my job. I get tremendous job satisfaction helping clients make the next step in their life, whether it be their first home, next home, forever home, a Buy to Let for the future or even getting them a lower rate on their current deal. Keeping clients protected is also a key foundation to the advice we give.

Weekends are very much sport and family time. Love a game of padel and golf, following football, and dreams of being an international house DJ.

Julie Parry

Like Roger, I’ve worked in the Financial Services industry for the last 20+ years. My various roles were with NatWest, a paraplanner with an IFA firm in Richmond, and from 2004 to 2017 working for Aviva in a compliance/investigator position.

My role at Fulcrum has evolved over the last few years to now include being able to help and advise our clients on their protection needs, making sure they are protected if they should become ill and are no longer able to work, how to pay their monthly outgoings and basically keep a roof over their heads.

When I’m not at work you’ll either find me on one of the challenging golf courses around Yorkshire trying to play somewhere near my handicap, enjoying a Pilates class or walking our Labrador, Rey. I enjoy good food and love to get recommendations of where to try next.

Sonia Featherstone

I’m Sonia Featherstone, a Mortgage & Protection Adviser and Broker with a passion for helping people achieve their goals—whether that’s securing their dream home or building a successful buy-to-let portfolio. Life is unpredictable, and I believe it’s essential to ensure you and your family are safeguarded against life’s unexpected events, I’ll help you put the right plans in place so you can relax knowing you and your family are protected.

I began my career in financial services back in 1991 and spent 20 years with Santander (originally Abbey National), where I qualified as a Financial Adviser. After taking some time out to focus on raising my children, I returned to the industry in 2021 as an independent broker—and I haven’t looked back since!

What I love most about my work is making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for my clients. Buying a home or investing in property is a big step, and I’m here to provide expert advice, tailored solutions, and peace of mind every step of the way. Having lots of life experience myself, I can appreciate and empathise with life’s challenges too.

Outside of work, life is just as busy! My children and our dog keep me on my toes, and I love spending time outdoors. Wild swimming and paddle boarding are my favourite ways to unwind and recharge.

If you’re looking for friendly, professional advice on mortgages or protection, I’d love to help, I’m always happy to chat about your plans and how we can make them happen.

Minnie O’Rourke

I began my career in the property industry in 2012, starting as a Sales Negotiator within an estate agency and progressing to Valuations Manager before moving into Mortgages and Protection in 2016. This background gives me a well-rounded understanding of the property journey, allowing me to guide and support my clients through every stage of their purchase or remortgage.

My aim is always to make the process as clear, smooth, and stress-free as possible, while providing honest advice tailored to each individual’s needs. I genuinely love being able to help people make confident and informed decisions.

Outside of work, my world revolves around my son, who keeps me on my toes, and our much-loved Great Dane, who ensures I get plenty of fresh air on long walks

Danni Gordon

I’ve worn many hats throughout my career, with experience spanning marketing, project management, and financial services. Most recently, I worked alongside a mortgage broker, supporting them with all aspects of mortgage administration.

Joining Fulcrum Financial gives me the perfect opportunity to bring together my marketing and business development background with my financial administration experience — as well as the unofficial responsibility of keeping Roger from talking about padel every minute of the day.

Outside of work, I like to describe myself as a wistful writer, conscious foodie, and Neighbours geek. I’ve also recently discovered a love for running, which has quickly become my favourite way to unwind.

Charley Tong

Whilst completing my A-levels here in York I realised that the University route wasn’t quite for me and began searching for modern Apprenticeships in the financial industry. Thankfully,

Roger and the team have taken me under their wing, introducing me to the world of work, and teaching me everything there is to know about mortgages (and the occasional 90’s Tv show I didn’t know existed). I have loved my first few months here and I’m excited to strengthen my skills over the course of my apprenticeship and hope to one day be as successful as the rest of the team here at Fulcrum.

My role here is to assist the team in the administration and processing of client documentation, chase lenders for updates, and help make the mortgage process as easy and as stress free as possible.

Out of work, you’ll see me on the football pitch playing for my local team or enjoying the occasional beer.

Rey

You will usually find me in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I have worked at Fulcrum since being a puppy. My first role here was Official Document Shredder, but I’ve now been given the role of Head of Team Wellbeing.

My favorite pastimes are eating, long runs in the countryside or on the beach, eating, getting as muddy as possible, eating, sleeping and if room, a bit more eating!
